Would you like a friend?
Today when I was at the farmer’s market I noticed a woman, she could have been someone’s grandmother. She sat for a long while without moving. I approached her and said, “Hello, do you mind if I sit here.” This woman’s whole face broke into a smile. When we introduced ourselves we found we had much in common. She had traveled many years ago to my favorite city in France. We laughed and shared stories of children, churches and the weather. When her family said, “Let’s go now,” and she walked away, I realized I never learned her name. The funny thing is that I still knew I had made a friend. We shared conversation and laughter and my day was made brighter by the exchange.
Why don’t you try it? Start a conversation with someone you don’t know. Say something nice to someone you already know. You never know what you might gain from the encounter. You might make a wonderful new friend.
Have a lovely Autumn week. These Notes from Nancy come with blessings to your family from ours.
Dallas is beautiful.
Dallas is beautiful even through the rain. I stopped in to visit Representative Dan Branch downtown. I wanted him to have a copy of Becci Bookner’s, Good Manners for Great Caregivers. There is a wonderful view from his big windows.
Then I enjoyed lunch at Al Biernat’s, thanks to Marj Waters of the Park Cities News. Marj, her son Pete and Rhonda McGowen made delightful lunch companions. We are working together on The Century Club of the Park Cities. The Century Club promises to be a wonderful way to celebrate our local Centenarians. Did you know that we have 41 citizens right here in the Park Cities who are one hundred years of age? I sure didn’t! Family Staffing Solutions wants to honor them. And you can help!
Do you know someone who will celebrate one hundred years of age in 2010? Please let us know. We have some very special surprises in mind for them.
When lunch was over I popped into Dougherty’s and the beautiful Park Cities Baptist Church. Wow!
The day went quickly in Dallas. I will enjoy returning again, soon. We are busy at Family Staffing Solutions. Life is wonderful and we like to share our joy with you.
Blessings to your home from ours.
Nancy
Seasons
As we move into Autumn it reminds me of the stages of our lives.
This is season of apples and soups, of the putting up of fruit and cooking jam as well as the gathering of family as we plan for the holidays to come. I am reminded to begin to count blessings.
There is much to be thankful for. Family Staffing Solutions, Inc. is ten years old. Ten years in Nashville, ten years in Dallas. Excellent care, giving friends, wonderful clients, this is our family. We are celebrating our anniversary with you. For the next twelve months we will share our experiences with you through this blog. You are the reason we are here.
With those thoughts in mind we would like to share our newsletter with you. It if full of interesting information and health facts. You might enjoy the recipes, too. Let us hear from you!
We hope you are always blessed. These are your notes from Nancy.
